About us

The Open Data Network association was founded on October 21st 2009 in Berlin by 20 founding members from political parties, networks and enterprises, to bring the issues of Open Data, Open Access, Open Government, transparency and participation to the political agenda in a coordinated way.

The constituting session took place in the Newthinking Store, Tucholskystraße 48, 10117 Berlin, Germany between 19 and 21:30 o’clock. Here you can find the transcript of the constituting session [in German language].

The Opendata Network association was accepted to the register of associations by the district court of Berlin on December 4th 2009 and is recognized as being a nonprofit-organization by the Berlin revenue board.

We encourage all interested people to participate in the Open Data Network (e.V.). We are looking forward to welcome creative, innovative and skeptical members.
